Coach Bios

Mike Davey
Mike is in his 16th season coaching basketball at Saratoga High. His first 14 years were as the Saratoga High Boys Head Coach. He compiled a 231-140 record, won two league championships, made twelve CCS appearances and twice moved on to the semi-finals.  Starting with the 2008-2009 season, Mike took over the SHS Lady Falcons and led them to a 3rd place finish in the De Anza League. Mike prepared for his role as coach as an assistant under the tutelage of former Saratoga High Varsity basketball coach Barry Mendenhall and Mike’s father, Dick Davey, Associate Head Basketball Coach at Stanford University.

Aron Mitsunaga
Aron was a two time all-league point guard for the Saratoga Falcons and joined the staff as an assistant varsity coach two seasons ago.  This season Aron switched to girls and took over as head coach of the JV team. Aron has already demonstrated great knowledge in how to improve guard play from his players and has an excellent mind for the game.

Lerry Wilson
Lerry joined the Saratoga High Lady Falcons staff this year as a volunteer assistant after successfully coaching the 7th grade AAU program last summer.  Not only is he the best dressed and most articulate coach on the staff but he quickly earned the girls respect by his knowledge of both the game and his inspirational quotes.  The girls say that they are lucky to have "a coach that knows and loves the game as much as Lerry and he has been a tremendous asset this season.  His calm demeanor, careful corrections, and positive words always boost the morale of the team."

Andrew Zimmerman

6'9" post Andrew Zimmerman is a 21-year-old Stanford sophomore who was a star high school basketball player in Oostburg Wisconsin.  Andrew played college basketball in his first year at Santa Clara University before transferring to Stanford this past season where he has started seven of the first eight games.  In his first season coaching for the Suns, Andrew led the 5th-6th grade Suns to a 2nd place Spring NJB finish.

Tannaz Altafi

Tannaz joined the Saratoga High Lady Falcons staff this year as a varsity assistant.  Tannaz is a former standout rebounder and hustle player. Having recently played for the Lady Falcons, she is able to relate well to the girls and brings a lot of enthusiasm and skill to the team.

Barry Ju

Barry joined the Lady Falcons staff this season as Junior Varsity assistant coach after graduating from University of California San Diego.  He was a two year varsity player and the designated zone buster for the league champion Falcons in 2002.  Barry is excellent with the guards and one of the best form shooting coaches in the South Bay.

Danny Wallace

Danny was two time MVP of the El Camino league and 2nd in CCS in rebounding as a junior playing for the league champion Falcons.  Danny was the 6th grade Redwood girls basketball coach this past season leading the team to a 2nd place finish.  Danny coached the Suns developmental league for 4th-6th graders last spring.
